Biographies

Text Box: Megan Riakos, Writer/Director

Megan Riakos is a director with a passion for telling stories of an original and intimate nature. Her stories have reflected this focus. Megan earned her Bachelor of Arts Communication (Media Arts and Prod.) at UTS and shares her citizenship with the USA where she has spent time working as a production crew of many US films including ‘Chasing Dayight’ ‘Primevil’ and ‘Mystery Woman’ for the Hallmark Channel. 

Megan has directed several films including The Cross Roads and Tunnel Vision in 2002 as well as Loose Change,  Erica! The (un)Official Mascot, When Nature Calls, The Distant Runner and Human Behaviour. 

Most recently, Megan’s television commercial campaign of 3 commercials was a successful campaign for Garlo’s Pies.  

Megan currently lives in Sydney.

Annmaree J Bell, Producer

Annmaree an accomplished and motivated project manager with broad industry experience started her career in film production in 2003 after studying the Certificate in Screen at Metro Screen.

In 2004 Annmaree produced writer/director Michael Chrisoulaski’s three spec-commercials, assisted on Craig Boreham’s film Transient, production managed Jennifer Kent’s film Monster and worked with Metro Screen Indigenous Certificate II students on their location dramas.

Annmaree also produced and executively produced her first short film; The Chess Set, a privately funded venture directed by Alex Murawski in 2004.

In 2005, Annmaree produced a short comedy/drama Elemenopee with writer/director Natalia Amoore which was screened in the Best of the Rest for TROPFEST 2005. in 2006 Annmaree has also produced a quiet spot by writer Mark Hennessy and Directed by Ashley Fairfield and the MetroScreen/FTO Funded film ’Closing Stages’ by writer/director Alina Gozin’a.

Annmaree is also working on two short films with John Frank; the other half of Azure Productions; The Sound of Shadows writer/director Julietta Boscolo and Hollow Hills writer/director Kim Ramsay, both scheduled to be shot in 2006. Annmaree has also produced several commercials.

In addition, Annmaree has two feature films screenplays in development ‘The Man with a pink tie’ writer, Darren Keating and ‘Spooks’ writers Darren Keating and Megan Riakos.

Annmaree lives in Sydney with her partner John.

Callan Green, Cinematographer

As Cinematographer Callan has shot numerous short films, documentaries and corporate videos and several feature films. He successfully completed a Masters in Cinematography at the Australian Film Television and Radio School in Sydney. Many of the films he has shot have made it in numerous short film festivals. Including Blandville, his first documentary won the Bondi Film Festival and Splintered, which won Grand Jury Prize at Slamdance Film Festival (Utah) as well as Still Life, In Case of Alan and many more.
In 2004 Callan was awarded 'Highly Commended' for Splintered and a Silver award for Blandville in the student category at the NSW ACS awards. 
Callan's first feature as DoP, Burke and Wills was preselected for Critics Week at Cannes and also for Sundance. In 2004 Callan was awarded 'Highly Commended' for Splintered and a Silver award for Blandville in the student category at the NSW ACS awards. Most recently Callan finished shooting a new low budget feature, shot in Brisbane, The Under Dog's Tale.
